Eastleach our home in the Cotswolds countryside

Eastleach Remembrance Day Service and unveiling of new Memorial in Village Hall

This year we mark the 100th year anniversary of the ending of World War 1 with a special service and commemoration. Tradition has it in Eastleach that we meet at St Andrews Church at 10.50 and that we mark 11.00am with 2 minutes silence followed by a service of Remembrance.

We will remember them …..

We then take the short walk to the stone memorial in the village where the names of the fallen are read out with a wreath laying in their honor.

This year, we will extend a welcome to all to make the day complete by attending the unveiling of a new wooden memorial in the Village Hall.

Refreshments in the form of teas and coffee will be available before the new memorial is unveiled.

We look forward to see as many villagers and visitors as possible.

You will recall the fabulous book, “Eastleach War Memorial” that Gill O’Shaughnessy researched and compiled to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the First World War. I am currently making this available digitally on the Website, so it will be available in the future for all to read.
