MORNING PRAYER AT EASTLEACH

St Andrews Church in Eastleach is one of few in Gloucestershire still to have Morning Prayer from the 1662 ‘Book of Common Prayer’ as its usual Sunday service – the “full works” including the Te Deum.

A little baffling at times to newcomers (including some of our visiting clergy!), it has a timeless dignity which is much appreciated by the regular congregation and all who become familiar with it.

We’re very pleased that on Sunday 20th November 2016, the choir of Hatherop Castle School are coming to lead the worship. The canticles will benefit from a strong lead, and their visit will give us the opportunity for a more colourful setting of the versicles & responses, and also for an anthem. We’re very grateful to the school for arranging for this to happen – and indeed to the children and their parents who will be giving up part of their Sunday morning for the occasion.
