“Cotswold District Council is receiving complaints regarding irresponsible dog owners allowing their dogs to foul in our villages.
The Council can issue fixed penalty fines of £75 or proceed via the courts who can fine up to £1000 for this anti-social offence. Locals are angry, and pretty soon a name will be given to us and we are obliged to proceed against these people.
The council will give anonymity to witnesses, and we always prosecute and inform the local press.
Please keep dogs on leads in public places and always walk with dogs in front of you so you can see if they leave anything behind!
Do not get caught, fined and embarrassed: be responsible.”
