moment! No, not the literal ones (most of mine are caps), but the metaphorical ones. This has led to me being too busy with a variety of tasks - and family issues - this month, so I didn’t get round to finding a willing volunteer for this feature. But it gives me an opportunity to put out a request. If you know someone who might be willing to introduce themselves to the wider community in this way, please ask them, then let me know. It’s interesting to have a range of different people - and would be great to have some more contributors from the younger end of the age scale, or perhaps people who are new to our area.

Eastleach Apple Pressing Day
2pm Sunday 10 October 2021
In The Village Hall Garden
Everyone is welcome to bring apples and get them pressed in the Village Hall garden from 2pm alongside the boot sale.
It has been a thin harvest for apples this year, but tree owners are normally delighted to give any away particularly if there is a bottle of juice in return so ask friends and neighbours or go scrumping locally. Any apples will juice, we always mix up eaters and cookers.

After seven years as a design director, living in Paris and working for the luxury fashion house Louis Vuitton, I decided to return to London and continue my career heading up footwear design at Burberry. I would travel up to the Cotswolds every weekend where I rented a house in Burford. Eventually the commute got the better of me and I decided to move here full time. Initially I bought a house in Moreton-in-Marsh but then four years later I discovered Eastleach, the hidden bygone village lost in time! My partner and I were lucky enough to move to the village, the place we now call home.

The Police have requested that we share the news that a burglary took place in the village between 7pm on the 8th April through to 7am on the 9th April.
Stone stiles are found in many areas of the country and we have some good examples around the CHEQS villages, including the ones shown on this page.
For centuries stone stiles have provided access to people walking along pathways, whilst preventing sheep and cattle from straying. Despite their historic value, scores of these stone stiles have been abandoned and some now lost forever.

Many many thanks to everyone who turned up for the Eastleach Annual Litter Pick on Saturday! So many people helped out that we ran out of high-vis vests and pick-up sticks. As usual the haul was predictable (crisp packets, tins) and surprising (<ahem> six 2L bottles of wee thrown into […]
