CCTV appeal for witnesses following multiple purse thefts – Carterton, Faringdon and Witney

Thames Valley Police is releasing a CCTV image of a man who may have vital information following multiple incidents of theft in Carterton, Faringdon and Witney.

The first incident occurred between 10.30am and 11.30am on Friday 26 October at the Aldi supermarket in Carterton.

The second incident occurred between 11.30am and 12.00pm on Friday 26 October at Waitrose, Witney.

The third incident occurred between 12.45pm and 13.15pm on Friday 26 October at the Aldi supermarket, Faringdon.

The fourth incident occurred between 12.00pm and 13.00pm on Thursday 1 November at the Aldi supermarket in Carterton.

The fifth incident occurred between 11.00am and 11.30am on Monday 5 November at Aldi supermarket in Carterton

The victims, five elderly women, had their purses and bank cards stolen whilst they were shopping.

Investigating Officer Tracy Lannon-Smith based at Witney police station said: “We are appealing to the public for help in identifying the person pictured in this CCTV image, as we believe they could help us with our investigation.

“If you recognise the person in this image then please get in touch with police.”
