Eastleach our home in the Cotswolds countryside

Message From Parish Council

Good evening all. Our grass cutting contractors, CGS will be in the village tomorrow 30th March. Their work is authorised by both Central and Local Government at this difficult time as key to keeping cemeteries clear, we also have an obligation to keep the roadside verges mowed. Tony & Dave have helped keep our village beautiful for many years, they will be careful around the Daffs and know to keep away from sensitive areas. Please keep your distance from the guys tomorrow for their safety and yours.

Another point that should be emphasised is that the Garden waste collection (Green Bin) has been suspended until further notice by CDC. This is to allow the reduced manpower CDC has to concentrate on more essential waste collection. There is a strong incentive to start compost bins if your garden space allows. The suggestion is to cut your grass or lawns without collecting the cuttings and leave them on the lawn, this retains moisture.

The situation is a bit compounded as Fossecross refuse site is also closed until further notice due to Covid-19.

General Waste, mixed, glass, card, paper and food waste collection is due this coming Friday.

The roof work to the Village Hall is due to start in a weeks time, at this time it’s not confirmed this will commence.

Keep safe everyone.
