Telephone fraud offences happening in the Cotswolds.
This morning we have received two reports from residents in the Cotswold and Stroud districts of phone calls being made to elderly residents in an effort to obtain their bank card details.
In each instance the fraudster has purported to be a Police Officer calling from Paddington Police Station in London.
They tell the victim that they have arrested a suspect who was using the victims own bank card. They then ask the victim to hang up and call 999 immediately to confirm that they have spoken to the Police. The fraudster does not hang up though, keeps the line open and goes on to try to obtain the victims bank details.
Neither the Police of your bank would ever ask you to do this.
Whilst you may have received this or similar advice in the past, in the light of two recent reports this morning, we are circulating this message again.
Please do not provide the fraudster with any of your personal details. Ring off and report the call to us, the real Police, via 101 using a different telephone or via our website.

If you have an elderly relative or neighbour who you think would benefit from hearing the above then please pass the message on. Thank you for your help.
