2019 Eastleach Village Litter Pick
Around 20 Villagers gave their time on a blustery but bright Saturday morning to address the plague of the countryside, namely rubbish and discarded household waste from those that feel the rural landscape is their dumping ground.
Our Village is generally rubbish free due to the waste bins we have around its heart, but it’s the outlying roads that link us to other parts of the countryside that seem to be targeted for all manor of items. Amongst our list of finds this year, a complete pile of lager cans that clearly had been collected together only to be tossed onto the verge. A child’s booster car seat, a complete pile of spent shotgun cartridges! This list goes on. In total we amassed 20 full bags of rubbish as well as items too big to be bagged.
A special thank you to Tom and Maya and the staff at the Vic for allowing us to assemble and have a warming drink before we started.
One again, thanks for the community spirit of Eastleach.
