We are receiving a large number of reports of Covid-19 breaches of people staying in holiday lets , Air B n B and second homes. Guidance is clear and no overnight stays are allowed and you must stay in your primary residence unless there is a very good reason and exemption in the restrictions. ( this also applied when we were in tier 4)
Scammers are trying to take advantage of peoples worries and uncertainty about the covid pandemic, especially those who are alone, self-isolating or in financial difficulty.
Behind the walls of some of our CHEQS residences, people are busy running small businesses.

As the Eastleach jungle drums are beating again, just wanted to let you know, we have been advised by DEFRA that there have been a number of bird flu cases ( they report that this does not affect humans) in wild birds around the country.
A number of concerned parishioners have asked that we post the following that has been put on the parish council website, so please don't shoot the messenger. "So it looks like they still do not want to save the village phone box for future generations."
During these very strange times it is still very important that we remember those who have given their lives for our freedom. Gill O’Shaughnessy has given het kind permission to publish her wonderful book about the Eastleach War Mememorial and the heroes of our village it commemorates, so that is […]

Tearfund is a well-established Christian charity which
has three broads aims: to help people around the world
to escape poverty, to provide relief when disasters hit,
and to encourage changes to laws and individual
lifestyles to help improve people’s quality of life.
There will be an opportunity to support Tearfund, and at
the same time test your brain power and have fun as a family or a small group of
socially-distanced friends (depending on any new rules!). Thanks to the wonders of
video-conferencing, people can join together locally, whilst being part of a national
and international initiative. Donations to Tearfund can be made through a JustGiving
account which will be set up for donations from the CHEQS area. These will then be
added to the national Big Quiz Night total.
Last month, Kate Hicks Beach, Kevin and Jane Lynch,
Anne Marie Fisher, Helen Cuthbertson and David Hicks
Beach (for most of the journey) set out at 9am on Ride
& Stride Saturday to raise funds for the
Gloucestershire Historic Churches Trust. It was a
glorious day for the trip, and they cycled for over 23
miles around the benefice, visiting 13 churches in the
process. Last year, taking a different route, they made
a county-topping £2,870 for GHCT!

Think it is very sad as a community Eastleach was unable, unlike surrounding villages, to preserve this piece of historic street furniture.
