“When I visited Eastleach, I couldn’t bring myself to leave because it was so breathtakingly beautiful.
The characterful stone houses reflected in the water of the river took me back to my childhood in Japan, where the traditional houses were by the water.
And it was the time of year when the leaves were turning red. I could hear the birds chirping as they busied themselves in the trees.
I felt so inspired that I couldn’t stop painting for the trip. I completed this painting at my friends’ home in the next village over. I can’t wait to return and see its changing faces in the different seasons.”
